We operate a 250 head cow/calf operation and compost manure. We need assistance with livestock care, preparing compost, collecting manure and inputs used in producing beef and compost. Job duties will include but not be limited to: Employees are to operate various forms of light and heavy-duty machinery safely and efficiently. Perform daily maintenance on equipment and communicate with other employees and management effectively. Interact with clients professionally at all times, Ensure that the vehicle used are always fueled and mechanically ready after each use, Arrange for vehicle/equipment repairs as needed, We use late model large wheel loaders and other equipment to load material such as soil and compost into mobile screening plants to filter debris. As well as operate composting equipment. Employees must have wheel loader skills to move, pile and turn over material. They will be moving large quantities of materials to screening and separating facilities with wheel loaders and using self-propelled composting turners to turn raw cattle manure into a processed natural fertilizer for reapplication back into the soil. Other duties include cleaning work areas, operate a semi-truck with belt trailers, end dump, side dump, and flatbed trailers to pick up manure and other organic matter from grain processing and livestock facilities and deliver compost materials to be spread. Record documentation in software and turn paperwork in on a timely basis, load crops/commodities and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities; load and unload materials and commodities; operate self-propelled machinery; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; use hand tools such as such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, knives, wrenches, crow bars, air tools, and electric tools; operate wheel loaders and mobile screening plants. Attend to live farm, ranch animals on a cow-calf operation; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, catching, sorting, castrating, branding, and loading animals; Deliver, move feed/feedstuffs to cattle to supplement diet; Maintain records on loads; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries and administer vaccinations and medicines as necessary; Drive trucks to transport livestock and feed from one location to another; Inspect, maintain, prepare, and repair livestock equipment and facilities; check fence lines for evidence of predators or hazards and make repairs to holes/fences. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: dirt moving equipment, tractors, wheel loaders, forklift, manure spreading equipment, pickups, cars, etc, , Semi’s and various trailers. Must maintain employee housing, equipment and travel vehicles. Employees will be required to wash, clean, and maintain vehicles. This job involves working around livestock and the strong smell of manure. Must speak and understand English.
