Harvesting of vegetables: Once at the harvesting location, doing a row at a time, workers will move down the row, plucking the vegetables from the plant and packing them into a container. Once the container is full, workers take containers to the truck or dump at truck. The worker will go back to the picking area and fill container up again, repeating this process through the workday. Harvesting blueberries: By hand, the workers will walk down the blueberry field row, plucking fruit from the tree and placing them into containers, making sure not to damage fruit or break/damage the tree and not knocking down unripe fruit. When the container is full, workers will take containers and deliver containers to the truck at the end of row. The workers will go back to picking area, fill container up again, and repeat this process through the day. Harvesting strawberries: By hand, the worker will walk down the strawberry field row, plucking and packing the strawberries into a container, making sure not to damage the fruit while plucking/packing or damaging the plant, period. When the container is full, the worker will take container to the truck at the end of the row. The workers will go back to their picking area, fill their container up again and repeat this process throughout the day. Harvesting tomatoes: Worker will go down the row, filling container up with fruit, making sure not to damage fruit or plant. When the container is full, the worker will take container to deliver and/or dump container at the end of the row to the truck. The workers will go back to their picking area and fill container up again and repeat this process through the day. Field maintenance worker will tie, stake, prune plants, clean micro jets, remove plastic, remove plastic drip lines, using hands or a hoe, workers will remove dead plants or weeds. Be able to clean work area broom, mop, and pick up garbage from crops, and organize work area. The workers, in order to perform this type of work, must be able to work outside for at least 6 hours a day in all kinds of weather and be in possession of the requisite physical strength and endurance, work quickly and skillfully with their hands repeatedly. Workers that qualify may be required to drive agricultural machinery such as tractors, forklifts, and trucks. The employer will provide the tools necessary (if applicable) to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker. The employer will charge for reasonable cost related to worker refusal or negligence, failure to return the tools or willful damage or destruction of tools. Employees may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available. Workers should expect occasional periods of no work due to weather, crops or other conditions beyond employer's control. These periods may occur at any point of the season. If the worker requests leave of absence during these periods of no work, the hours will be deducted from the hours offered under the ETA-790A.
