- Offer description:
Workers will perform farm labor duties related to aquaculture/fish farming (tilapia and trout) and greenhouse production (leafy greens, lettuce, spinach, kale, herbs, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, microgreens, and other seasonal greenhouse vegetables). Workers will breed, raise, feed, grade, transfer, and harvest fish; monitor fish health, growth, water temperature, oxygen levels, water flow, and general water conditions; clean and maintain tanks, ponds, raceways, filters, screens, equipment, buildings, and fish habitats. The fish are raised in a controlled aquaculture setting, including tanks, ponds, raceways, and related fish-production areas located on the farm property. Workers will clean and maintain tanks, ponds, raceways, filters, screens, equipment, buildings, and fish-production areas used for tilapia and trout production. During this period, tilapia and trout require increased labor for feeding, grading, size separation, transfer, water-quality monitoring, harvesting, cleaning, and preparation of tanks and equipment. Workers will plant, transplant, prune, water, fertilize, weed, spray, dust, shade, and fumigate greenhouse crops as directed. Workers will monitor plants for disease, insects, nutrient needs, and growing conditions; maintain proper greenhouse temperature, humidity, ventilation, and light levels; prepare soil mixes; move soil, fertilizers, plants, trays, containers, and supplies; maintain irrigation systems, greenhouse controls, mist controls, coolers, tools, and equipment; and keep all work areas clean and orderly.
