Field Worker: Duties vary depending on the growing season: • Using sharp picking knives, standing, and kneeling on ground to pick fruit or vegetables • Use forklift and pallet jack to load and unload material and equipment • Workers will also operator tractors and harvest machines, which have gross weight capacity under 26,001 lbs and do not require commercial driver license to operate • Pack and load materials. • Harvest product by hand, and/or using a harvest knife. • Continual bending to reach product. • Weeding; remove any overgrown weeds • Driving company vehicle, if necessary, must have a valid DL. • Workers will be planting or harvesting all crops by hand or with tools and equipment Harvest/Packer: Under the general supervision of the Harvest Foreperson, the worker effectively cuts or picks product of the correct quality, size, and weight for the correct packs. Effectively pack or package by hand a wide variety of produce in the correct packs. All packing duties will be completed in the field and on the farm. Irrigation: Irrigate crops, using sprinklers, drip tape, main line, row water, and other necessary means. Irrigators will handle a high-pressure water pump and run it during the workday. Irrigators will also be responsible for moving sprinkler pipes and opening and closing irrigation valves, ensuring all sprinklers are working while the system is running. Irrigators will take care of sprinklers and clear fields, roads, canals and ditches to avoid flooding. Wash and sanitize agricultural equipment, maintain yard. Crops: Strawberries, lettuce, romaine lettuce, green and red leaf, frise, baby spinach, baby green and red spring mix, multi-leaf, kale, arugula, mizuna Workers may occasionally and/or sporadically perform duties associated with and directly related to the primary duties. Such work will be temporary and unsubstantial agricultural labor.
