Workers will perform duties related to agricultural equipment operation and general farm labor in support of seasonal hay production, field management, livestock support activities, and overall farm operations. The primary duties of this position involve the safe and efficient operation of agricultural machinery and equipment used throughout the hay production cycle. During the growing season, workers will prepare fields for hay production by operating tractors, tillage equipment, loaders, and other agricultural machinery used for soil preparation, cultivation, mowing, raking, and baling activities. Workers will assist with maintaining proper field conditions through irrigation management, including the operation, monitoring, adjustment, and maintenance of center pivot irrigation systems and related water delivery equipment. Additional duties may include manure scraping and manure handling operations, maintaining drainage areas and farm roads, repairing and maintaining fencing, and performing general field upkeep to support hay production and land management activities. Workers will continue irrigation and crop maintenance activities by operating agricultural equipment to maintain hay fields, monitor field conditions, and support overall production needs. Workers may assist with spraying and application activities as directed and will operate equipment associated with hay production, including balers, mowers, rakes, swathers, choppers, and related machinery. Workers will also perform material handling duties associated with hay production and storage. During harvest periods, workers will operate harvesting and transportation equipment including tractors, loaders, balers, trucks, and other machinery necessary for cutting, baling, transporting, and storing hay. Duties include loading, transporting, stacking, storing, and securing hay bales and forage materials. Workers will assist with moving harvested hay between fields, storage locations, and feeding areas as needed and will perform general harvest support activities to ensure efficient operations. Following harvest and during winter months, workers will continue general farm operations through equipment operation associated with feed handling, feed distribution, maintenance of stored hay and forage, and winter farm upkeep. Workers will inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs on agricultural equipment, irrigation systems, fencing, and farm facilities. Additional winter duties may include snow removal, ice management, salt spreading, roadway maintenance, and maintaining safe access to farm property and operational areas. Throughout the contract period, workers will regularly operate a variety of agricultural equipment and machinery, including but not limited to tractors, skid steers, loaders, feed trucks, manure handling equipment, irrigation systems, haying equipment, balers, mowers, swathers, rakes, tillage equipment, and other related agricultural machinery. Workers are responsible for following all safety procedures and performing routine operational inspections and minor maintenance on assigned equipment. Workers may also perform livestock-related duties in connection with overall farm operations. Such duties may include feeding livestock, moving animals between designated areas or pens, checking animals for general health and condition, monitoring feed and water availability, and maintaining clean and orderly livestock facilities and work areas. Workers must be able to safely operate agricultural equipment and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, mud, snow, and icy conditions. Workers must be capable of lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds and performing physically demanding agricultural labor as required. Workers will perform all duties assigned by the employer that are consistent with agricultural equipment operation and general farmwork.
