Duties include cleaning work areas, equipment, and facilities; maintaining farm grounds and landscaping; hauling and spreading topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss, and other soil amendments using wheelbarrows, carts, and shovels; and setting up, operating, maintaining, and repairing irrigation and climate control systems. Workers will operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled farm equipment to plow, harrow, fertilize, plant, cultivate, spray, and harvest crops, and will participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest handling of crops. Employees will load agricultural products into trucks and drive trucks to markets, storage, or delivery locations. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and repairing farm vehicles, implements, equipment, buildings, fences, and other structures; maintaining inventory of plants, materials, equipment, or products; ordering supplies as needed; and keeping operational and production records. Workers will inspect, examine, and diagnose mechanical and electrical equipment to locate damage, defects, wear, or malfunctions; disassemble, dismantle, and clean defective machinery, vehicles, or parts using hand and machine tools; and fabricate, repair, or replace mechanical parts or components such as sheet metal, pipes, engines, or structural elements using tools and equipment including lathes, drill presses, milling machines, welding equipment, grinders, or saws. Employees will install, repair, and maintain farm machinery, vehicles, irrigation systems, plumbing, and sprinkler systems; tune, overhaul, or adjust engines and equipment to ensure proper performance; lubricate, clean, and reassemble equipment following repairs; test operation and make necessary adjustments; and drive trucks and move large objects to transport tools, equipment, or machinery to and from repair sites. Employees will also follow standard operating procedures to clean, package, and load shipments of grain products. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
