The temporary position requires the Agricultural Equipment Operator to perform any combination of the following tasks required in equipment operation, for farm and ranch work: Operate large farm equipment and machinery used for soil preparation. Mechanical skills needed to operate tractors and other farm equipment, to complete routine adjustments, repairs, and maintenance on farm equipment. Maintain over 30 acres of fence line; Clean water troughs; attend to pastures or fields; Perform digging of ditches and cleaning, and trim trees using heavy Massey Ferguson tractor machinery, as well as other tasks for ground preparation. Clear roads of debris. Mow, cut, and weed ranch roads and fields; remove undesirable and excess growth from farm grounds; maintain landscape around headquarters and ranch clean. Monitor, care for, and move livestock to and from pastures for feeding while pastures are producing feed; conduct pasture/brush management. Assist in the care and management of livestock, including feeding, watering, and ensuring the overall well-being of 6 cattle, and 4 horses; Check physical characteristics; examine animals to detect diseases and injuries. Handle duties in a timely and proficient manner without close supervision. Requires worker to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, frequent stooping, repetitive movements, stand, walk, turn, pivot, push, pull, and sit for long periods of time. Work outdoors in all types of weather and may experience occasional exposure to hazards such as poisonous snakes, biting insects, and extreme temperatures.
