Crops/Commodities: asparagus, green beans, peas, squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, zucchini. Primary duties (performed the majority of workdays): Workers will load/unload harvested vegetables or other materials manually or with mechanized equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, front-end loaders, sky track loaders, and switcher trucks or hand trucks. Workers may also use hand tools including but not limited shovels. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Clean, adjust, repair, and perform routine service on equipment (e.g., lubricating grease points, inspecting and maintaining fluid levels, checking belt and conveyor tensions, and maintaining tires, wheels, bearings, belts, and other wear parts). Repair or replace defective parts. May assist with other general farm maintenance or repairs. Production Forklift duties: worker is responsible for running the scales, and hauling finished product to the freezer. Additionally, keeping all production lines full with pallets and packaging. All drivers must have a company issued forklift license in their possession at all times, and are responsible to maintain a clean, safe, and organized area. Applicable department/area of responsibility training to be completed and maintained. Workers are tasked with filling out daily production records completely, correctly and legibly. Ensure that labeling and counts are correct on finished product pallets, and correct pallets are used for each customer contract. Distinguish the difference between all grades of pallets. Tape all totes with no more than 4” hanging from each side using a tape dispenser. Label all trash bins with appropriate labels ( Waste, Plastic, Cardboard). Label all byproduct totes with a time stamp stickers. Forklift drivers must report and all accidents, including near miss accidents immediately to the supervisor. Yard Forklift Operating duties: Worker is responsible for unloading incoming loads of raw products into designated storage space. Work with scale house to ensure proper products are stored and loaded. Loading raw products into outdoor hoppers and conveyor belts. Dump product waste totes and wash totes for reuse. Move loaded/unloaded trailers onto and off the hydraulic platform. Operate forklifts, skid steers, front-end loaders, sky track loaders, and switcher trucks. All drivers must have a company issued forklift license in their possession at all times, and are responsible to maintain a clean, safe, and organized area. Applicable department/area of responsibility training to be completed and maintained. Workers are tasked with filling out daily records completely, correctly and legibly. Drivers must report and all accidents, including near miss accidents immediately to the supervisor. Job opportunity is Skill Level I. All primary duties are entry-level and require close supervision and/or a short demonstration of the task by a more experienced worker. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker's Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time. Workers will have an unpaid lunch break. Workers will be offered alternating days off. TERMINATION. Prior to any termination for cause, employer evaluates workers' performance of required tasks and compliance with Work Rules and other employer policies. Employer may terminate a worker for cause if the worker's performance consistently and/or substantially fails to satisfy the employer's reasonable expectations (in accordance with the criteria set forth herein), or otherwise engages in serious or egregious misconduct that endangers health, safety, or property.
