Seasonal employment is strictly limited to the period of April through November and is not year-round. During this time, workers will perform a variety of agricultural duties including spraying weeds, irrigating hay land, operating haying equipment, repairing existing and constructing new fences, and handling cattle during breeding season, branding, sorting, and movement, as well as performing light mechanical work and equipment maintenance. Job duties include attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; operating tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery; engaging in planting, weeding, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting activities; applying fertilizers and pesticides to control insects, weeds, and diseases; irrigating soil using portable pipes or ditch systems and maintaining irrigation infrastructure; observing and inspecting machinery to detect malfunctions and performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and irrigation systems; cleaning and maintaining work areas, equipment, and farm facilities; identifying plants, pests, and weeds to determine proper treatment; setting up, operating, and repairing irrigation and climate control systems; maintaining and repairing farm vehicles, equipment, buildings, fences, and other structures; herding livestock to pastures or enclosures and rotating grazing areas; segregating, marking, and identifying livestock using brands, tags, or other methods; moving livestock and equipment manually or with vehicles; cleaning stalls, pens, and equipment; and inspecting and repairing pens, yards, fences, and buildings. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
