Workers will perform duties as instructed and assigned by their supervisor. Van Driver: Drivers will operate passenger vans to transport up to 10 workers between housing and worksites, and weekly for grocery, laundry, and banking needs. Driver will direct and monitor workers and will report any accidents or injuries. Drivers must provide documents or licenses to law enforcement officers when requested. Drivers will inspect vehicles and safety equipment before operating, including gas, oil, and water levels. Drivers will report and coordinate minor repairs to vehicles such as changing tires and following all maintenance-scheduled requirements. Drivers must follow specific routes according to times and schedules indicated by field supervisors or managers. Drivers must comply with DOT safety guidelines and traffic regulation for vehicle operation to ensure passenger and vehicle safety. It’s essential that drivers safeguard passengers by confirming each are seated while following safety practices during vehicle operation, regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort. Drivers are required to report delays and accidents immediately. Drivers must complete DOT required medical exam. Field Leader: The Field Leader is responsible for assisting the Farm Manager and supporting other fieldworkers by helping communicate daily work plans. The Field Leader will operate farm machinery and will communicate with the Farm Manager regarding daily work plans. Other tasks include transporting workers from field to field, assisting workers punch in and out on time-keeping system and documenting crop data on iFoods software using iPad. Workers are responsible for following the recommendations of supervisors in performing these tasks. Agricultural Worker – Equipment Operation and Maintenance Support: Routine maintenance of tractors and farm implements used in field prep. Changing belts, hoses, filters; Lubricating equipment; Minor repairs in the field to keep planting/prep operations running; Assisting with irrigation pump repairs directly tied to crops. Agricultural Equipment Operators: Workers will safely operate tractor and other farm vehicles as directed. Land Preparation and Maintenance: Land preparation consists of several job duties, farm equipment such as backhoe, tractor, tiller, excavator, etc. maybe required. Job duties include but are not limited to: Tilling, Laser leveling, Digging out and cleaning ditches/canals, Mowing harvesting beds/ditches/canal areas, Building walking areas, Herbicide applications/Salt amendments, Controlling and hand pulling weeds in harvesting beds, Hauling, Laying and repairing irrigation pipes. General Farm Labor: Hourly work may include different tasks of general farm labor. These activities may include assisting with general upkeep of the farm between seasons, such as repairing and maintaining gravel and dirt roads, preparing and maintaining beds, clearing and maintaining canals and drainage areas, pulling weeds, cleaning ditches, scouting for insects, tractor spraying, repairing PVC irrigation lines, solid fertilization, regulating water, tractor bedding, burning, mowing, and scratching and performing similar routine tasks necessary to support future field work. Such maintenance duties are occasional and secondary in nature, do not require specialized skills, licenses, or independent judgment. Instructions in proper procedures for each of these jobs will be provided in training. Workers are responsible for following the recommendations of supervisors in performing these tasks.
