Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer’s fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, or bank on an as-needed basis. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Not all workers are requested to drive; drivers will be required to possess a valid operators license. No one will be rejected for the position that does not possess a class D license. Drives and operates farm machinery to plant, prune, cultivate, spray and/or harvest tree fruit & a wide variety of vegetables such as but not limited to: tomatoes, peppers & squash. Attach farm implements such as plow, seed drill, water wheel and manure spreader to tractor. Drive tractor and operate implements in fields. Make adjustment and minor repairs on machinery. Set up & operate irrigation equipment. General field and orchard maintenance, picking and attending farmers market. Mix chemical solutions such as pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers. Spray fruit, berry and vegetable crops. Prune, thin and hand weed crops. Manually harvest, wash and pack apples, peaches, berries, other tree fruit and vegetables. Must be physically able to lift up to 75lbs on a consistent basis throughout the day and work outdoors in all weather conditions. While working in the field, all cell phone usage is limited to emergency use only. Due to health and safety concerns on our farm, workers must understand basic instructions in English. Employers may conduct/require random illegal drug or alcohol tests at employer’s expense after hiring, for the safety of themselves and others. The Employer maintains a zero-tolerance policy for all employees regarding the use of illegal drugs and the abuse of alcohol and prescription drugs. Employees are prohibited from reporting to work impaired by any substance, legal or illicit, that affects their ability to perform their job duties safely and effectively. A positive drug test or a violation of this policy will lead to immediate corrective action, which may include termination A minimum of three months verifiable experience necessary in the aforementioned.
