- Offer description:
Seasonal workers are required to haul and spread chicken manure on fields. Employees must operate, run, maneuver, and control trucks and large tractors to transport and apply manure as fertilizer. Workers will perform duties related to field preparation, including hauling manure for stockpiling, removing and transporting debris to appropriate disposal or recycling facilities, and spreading and applying manure. Additional responsibilities include operating and monitoring pumps. Once application is complete, workers will prepare and move equipment to the next location and clean up the worksite. Routine maintenance on equipment is also required. Employer may provide pay increases based on longevity and experience. Work is performed outdoors for extended periods under varying conditions, including wet plants from dew or rain, and in light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sunlight, high humidity, and extreme temperatures. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, insect sprays, or related chemicals may affect a worker’s ability to perform the job. Workers must be able to perform all required duties with or without reasonable accommodations. Employees must wear assigned personal protective equipment when required and report to work daily in appropriate work clothing and boots or other durable footwear. Casual clothing is not permitted. Workers wearing inappropriate clothing will not be allowed to begin work. Workers will receive an unpaid lunch break when working more than five hours. Employees must report to work at the designated time and place each day. Work schedules may vary daily or weekly depending on weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. The employer will notify workers of any changes to start or end times. The employer may request, but will not require, that workers work beyond the stated daily hours, on the worker’s Sabbath, or on federal holidays. Workers may not report to work under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Possession or use of illegal drugs or alcohol on company worksites or in vehicles is prohibited and will result in immediate termination. For the safety of workers, staff, and the public, the employer reserves the right to terminate for cause, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, any worker found during employment to have a criminal conviction record or status as a registered sex offender. The work described is regular, seasonal, full-time employment requiring all workers to be available according to the standard work schedule throughout the contract period. There may be temporary reductions or stoppages in work due to the natural agricultural cycle. The employer also reserves the right to terminate workers for lawful, job-related reasons, including but not limited to workers who are regularly absent or tardy; refuse to work as directed; are unqualified to perform the job; or are physically able but unwilling to perform required duties. Non-U.S. workers may be terminated if one or more U.S. workers become available during the employer’s recruitment period. Job abandonment will be deemed to occur after five consecutive workdays of unexcused absences. Foreign workers will be advised of their responsibility to depart the United States upon completion of employment. The employer will request and maintain records of each worker’s permanent address, email address (when available), and phone number.
