Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Adjust, repair, and install farm machinery, gates and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Operate ag equipment such as dozer, backhoe, ditcher, weed burner. Direct and monitor the activities of work crews engaged in planting, weeding, or harvesting activities. Operate towed machines to irrigate crops. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Irrigate soil, using portable pipes or ditch systems, and maintain ditches or pipes and pumps. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Set up and operate irrigation equipment. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to irrigate soil. Clean work areas, and maintain farm grounds and landscaping. Regulate outdoor irrigation systems. Maintain and repair irrigation systems. Dig and cut trees and shrubs. Maintain inventory, ordering materials as required. Move containerized shrubs, plants, and trees, using wheelbarrows or tractors. Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Duties include repairing farm gates and fencing used for agricultural field operations, checking and maintaining crop field infrastructure, constructing and repairing farm structures used in support of crop production, pouring cement for agricultural improvements associated with field operations, and using hand tools such as shovels to prepare and maintain crop fields and agricultural work areas. All duties described above occur exclusively at the listed crop farm worksites and are performed in direct support of agricultural operations and the cultivation, production, and harvesting of crops.
