Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. General field & fence maintenance: Workers will clear ground of rocks, sticks, and roots by hand and clear brush and trees with chain saw. Use wood to build and repair boxes for digger. Preparing the ground for planting and manually weeding fields by hand or using hand tools. Drain water from fields with hand tools & shovels when needed. Maintain, & clean all hand tools & mechanical equipment prior to and after use. Workers must be able to work with minimum supervision. Sweet potato – Cut slips by hand with knife, load and unload boxes onto trucks and trailers. Walk behind potato trans planter and fill in slips by hand. Riding mechanical trans-planter and loading slips in planting cups. Divining plants by hand. Workers may drive in-field trucks and/or transport workers to fields and grocery store.
