Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery. Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers. Observe and listen to machinery operations to detect equipment malfunctions. Perform emergency/incidental repairs as needed, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, or spark plugs. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Incidental field repairs on equipment as needed. Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition. Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles. Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Record information about crops, such as pesticide use, yields, or costs. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and selfpropelled machinery to plow, and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping. Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary. Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers. Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations. Drive vehicles with capacities over three tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations, such as railroad stations, plants, residences, offices, or within industrial yards. This will include a semi with a manual transmission as well as a conveyor trailer/ hopper bottom trailer to move bulk seed products to our customers. , 1/2 or 1 ton pickup truck with a gooseneck or bumper pull flatbed trailer to deliver prepackaged products. Use and maintain the tools or equipment found on commercial vehicles, such as weighing or measuring devices. Measure, weigh, and count products and materials. Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records. Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools. Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools. Place or pour products or materials into containers, using hand tools and equipment, or fill containers from spouts or chutes. Can operate equipment to execute a customer delivery. Ability to operate a forklift as well as a skid steer loader (hand and foot controls as well as joystick controls) to load and unload pre-packaged products from trailers. Understand basic flow of fluid as we will mix some bulk liquid products on site. This requires the individual to actuate valves in a responsible way to ensure no leaks or unintended mixing of fluids. Individual will be asked to complete soil sampling if needed to determine certain biological factors. This position does require the ability to work with an iPad utilizing software to ensure geographic location in the fields for sample collection. Ability to learn to operate and treat soybean seed through a treater. Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record is required to ensure a safe and productive environment, as well as insurability.
