All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in the job duties and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in Section A.3 & A.4. Workers will perform any combination of the following tasks daily: plant, maintain and harvest diversified ground crops which include corn, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, beets, cucumbers, squash, beans, tomatoes, pumpkins, eggplant, peppers, brussels sprouts & herbs. Workers will perform field work, weeding, thinning, hoeing, unloading hay and other duties related to the planting, maintaining and harvesting crops. Workers will work in greenhouses planting and transplanting seedlings and will also plant and transplant crops in the field. Workers will work in a storage building washing, culling, and preparing produce for storage and distribution. Workers will help load and unload trucks. Workers may be asked to operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer's fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis. Workers that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid driver’s license; no worker will be rejected for not having a driver's license. Workers who do drive will still perform the same field work and other duties as non-driving workers; driving is not a primary duty. Workers will be compensated at the correct rate of pay for all hours worked, including when they are performing the employer’s obligation of driving. Workers should report for work with their own suitable clothing and be willing and able to work in various extreme weather conditions from damp, cold spring and fall days to hot, humid summer days. The work assigned will be physically demanding, walking, bending, stooping and kneeling for long periods of time will be required. Workers must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Workers may use hand and power tools including but not limited to shovels, hoes, pruners, irrigation pumps and chainsaws. Workers may cut brushes to keep fields open for crops. Workers must be able to operate agricultural equipment safely. Workers may be requested to work 7.5-hour shifts within the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm on Monday, and workers may be requested to work 6.5-hour shifts within the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Tuesday to Saturday. Workers may offer to work on Sunday, subject to mutual agreement between the employer and the employee. This totals 40 hours per week. The 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM range accounts for farm conditions (e.g., weather or crop readiness) to ensure workers complete the required hours. Workers will not work a full 12-hour shift. Workers will be given at least a 30-minute lunch break which is staggered between 11am - 1pm as decided by the workers and management. Workers may choose where to eat their lunch and return to work after their 30 minutes are up. Workers will also receive a 15-minute break in the morning and a 15-minute break in the afternoon as agreed upon by the worker and management. The daily or weekly work schedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employers will notify workers of any change to the schedule. The employer will provide 1 day of training and allow 2 days of work for the workers to satisfactorily perform duties described in this job description. Employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform all duties assigned. Workers must be able to take directions in simple English. Two (2) workers starting on May 1, 2026 and ending on October 30, 2026. One (1) worker starting one June 1, 20206 and ending on October 30, 2026.
