- Offer description:
We are seeking seasonal employees to assist with our crop production season for corn, wheat, oats, sorghum, rye, millet, and soybeans, as well as to support our cattle operation during calving season. We gather our mother cows in January, with calving beginning February 15 and continuing through May 1. From February through the end of April, employees will assist with checking cows, monitoring confined cattle during calving, doctoring calves, administering vaccinations or medications as needed, examining animals for signs of illness or injury, mixing and distributing feed and prescribed additives, and monitoring overall herd health. After May 1, cattle return to pasture and require minimal care. Crop-related duties include preparing fields for planting; attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, seed drills, planters, manure spreaders, and harvesters to tractors; operating tractors, irrigation equipment, combines, and other farm machinery; planting, cultivating, spraying, fertilizing, and harvesting crops; applying fertilizer and crop protection products; loading and unloading crops and materials using conveyors, forklifts, transfer augers, or hand tools; loading hoppers and containers to supply machinery; observing equipment operation to detect malfunctions; recording required agricultural data; and performing routine maintenance and repairs on farm equipment and facilities. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
