- Offer description:
Workers will perform duties in grain production including operating tractors, air seeders, planters, combines, grain carts, field cultivators, and land rollers for soil preparation, planting, seeding, fertilizing, crop maintenance, and harvesting of soybeans and corn. Equipment operated includes machinery equipped with GPS guidance and variable-rate application systems as part of standard crop production practices. Workers will drive farm trucks and semi-tractor trailers to transport harvested grain from field locations to local elevators as part of normal farming operations. Duties include transporting water for spraying operations using agricultural vehicles and operating agricultural vehicles required for field support. Workers will perform routine maintenance and servicing of farm equipment incidental to operation, including greasing, replacing worn parts such as cultivator shovels, conducting basic mechanical repairs, and ensuring tractors, combines, trucks, and trailers are road and field ready to maintain operational efficiency during peak seasonal periods. Work is tied directly to the annual planting, field preparation, crop maintenance, and harvest cycle and must be performed within compressed seasonal time frames requiring experienced operators capable of independently operating agricultural equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
