FARM EQUIPMENT OPERATOR: Performs a variety of tasks under supervision in agricultural crop production, including the production and harvesting of cotton, wheat, triticale and other crops. Primary tasks include all aspects of cultivating, planting, irrigation, chemical application, and harvesting cotton, wheat and triticale. Operates farm equipment as necessary for agricultural crop production, including but not limited to operating tractors, guidance systems, self-propelled sprayers, plows, and all farm implements associated with agricultural crop production for cotton, wheat and triticale. Operates the John Deere Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products with little to no guidance or supervision. Operates and maintains irrigation systems, including center-pivot irrigation systems and sub-surface drip tape irrigation systems. Performs equipment inspection to ensure proper functioning and maintenance when necessary. Performs field inspections to determine maturity dates of crops or estimate potential crop damage from weather. May load and unload trucks, install irrigation equipment and clean equipment. May perform general tasks related to agricultural crop production when work in the field is not available. On rare occasions, worker may perform general tasks related to commercial livestock production, but it is not a primary job duty. Workers will assist in loading trucks with product weighing up to and including 60 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet. Work may also include mechanized field work using power equipment. Power equipment may include tractors, planters, sprayers, cultivators, and other equipment. Workers will be expected to be able to operate agricultural equipment with or without direction.
