Need workers for farm in Southeast Georgia. Must be able to operate and maintain John Deere R series tractors, JD planters, JD combines, JD bailer pickers (cotton), and JD self-propelled sprayers. Need to be familiar with JD maxi merge planters, variable rate sprayers, disc harrows, subsoil levelers, box blades, etc. This is a family operation and is looking for workers to treat equipment like it was their own. Below are some requirements that were generated by this process.Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery for planting ad cultivating our crops. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Maintain farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. Measure, weigh, and mix chemical ingredients, according to specifications. Drain equipment and pump water or other solutions through to flush and clean tanks or equipment. Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems. Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools. Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary. Clean and lubricate parts. Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
