We need seasonal employees to assist with our corn and soybean production season. Employees will perform all assigned duties related to growing these crops, including preparing fields for planting; attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; operating tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery; engaging in planting, weeding, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting activities; fertilizing and spraying crops, including applying fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus, weeds, and diseases; loading and unloading crops or materials manually or using conveyors, forklifts, transfer augers, or hand trucks; loading hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines using forklifts, augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks; manipulating controls to set, activate, and adjust equipment; observing and listening to machinery during operation to detect malfunctions; driving farm semi-trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools; inspecting, adjusting, and completing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including hauling crops from fields to local markets or first points of storage; cleaning work areas, equipment, and facilities while maintaining farm grounds; preparing land and soil for planting by digging, raking, screening, and conditioning; hauling and spreading topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss, and other soil amendments; planting, transplanting, pruning, spraying, weeding, fertilizing, watering, and tying plants and crops; inspecting crops for insects, disease, quality, and growth progress and recording observations, pesticide use, yields, and costs; identifying plants, pests, and weeds to determine appropriate pesticide and fertilizer applications; participating in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops; loading agricultural products into trucks and driving them to markets, storage, or delivery locations; maintaining and repairing farm vehicles, implements, equipment, buildings, fences, and other structures; maintaining inventory of materials and equipment and ordering supplies as needed; keeping operational and production records; and directing or monitoring the work of seasonal employees during planting and harvesting activities.
