Job duties include diagnose, adjust, repair, perform routine servicing on equipment and trucks used to harvest and haul a perishable crop; fix and repair metal damaged on equipment; must be able to cut, fabricate, and weld metal; repair/maintain farm vehicles, implements, mechanical equipment and trucks; 3 months previous experience of repairing & maintaining sugarcane harvest equipment required. Job involves extensive sitting, exposure to extreme temperatures, repetitive movements, and frequent stooping. Must be able to lift/carry sufficient weight (at least 50 pounds) to move equipment and material necessary to complete assigned tasks. The Employer will rely on workers own representations and observations of workers to assess if the workers meet this qualification. Travel may be required to and from field locations; transportation is provided; drug screening may be required upon hire and randomly (paid for by employer). Bonus may be paid at the end of the contract at the discretion of the employer. Higher wage may be paid based on experience. Base hours offered is 40 hours; additional hours are usually offered during a plentiful season and may include 10-40 additional hours of work depending on the nature of the season.
