All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in the job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in Section A.3 & A.4. Workers will perform a combination of tasks involving attend to live farm and ranch animals that may include caring for chickens, goats, basic feeding and cleaning duties. Attend to animals. These duties may include feeding, watering, herding, riding, exercising, training, grooming, shoeing, weighing, catching, and loading animals. Workers may maintain records on animals; examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; assist in birth deliveries; and administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate. Workers will assist in cleaning and maintaining animal housing areas. The work assigned will be physically demanding, walking, bending, stooping and kneeling for long periods of time will be required. Workers must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds frequently. Workers will work a 2-hour shift within the 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM window on a Tuesday plus a 7 hour shift within the hours 7:00AM to 7:00PM within the same window from Wednesday to Saturday, plus a 8- hours shift with the same window on Sunday. This totals a minimum of 38 hours per week. The 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM range accounts for farm conditions (e.g., weather or crop readiness) to ensure workers complete the required hours. Workers will not work a full 12-hour shift. Workers will be given a 30-minute lunch break which is staggered between 11am - 1pm as decided by the workers. Workers may choose where to eat their lunch and return to work after their 30 minutes are up. The daily or weekly work schedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, or mechanical breakdowns but will not reduce the ¾ guarantee over the life of the contract. The employer will notify workers of any change to the schedule. The employer will provide 1 day of training and allow 2 days of work for the workers to satisfactorily perform duties described in this job description. The employer will furnish workers without cost or deposit all tools and equipment required to perform all duties assigned. Workers should report for work with their own suitable clothing and must be able to take directions in simple English.
