Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. Following the Supervisors instructions, the worker will perform the following tasks: Sweet Potatoes Planting, Maintaining & Hand Harvesting: Workers will cut plant from plant beds and green house, transplant plants into the soil by hand and machine, once fields are planted workers will maintain pulling weeds that may be interfering with the sweet potatoes maturing process, once the sweet potatoes are ready to be harvested workers will be repeatedly walking long distances in hot or cold weather conditions, harvesting by hand sweet potatoes into buckets; these buckets will be carried to a truck in the fields with empty bin boxes, at the end of the day employees should wash/ clean the buckets, wash/clean hydration stations or coolers and refill with clean water or ice. Bucket Unloading: Worker will be standing inside/next to the plastic, wood or cardboard bin boxes and receiving full buckets of sweet potatoes, onions & cucumbers from the other workers that are harvesting and unloading buckets full of produce into the plastic or wood bin boxes. Workers are required to lift and carry at least 50 pounds. Tobacco Planting & Maintaining & Harvesting activities: Maintain greenhouse while tobacco plants are growing and are ready to be transplanted into the fields, on the transplant process workers will transplant tobacco plants into the ground by machine, once fields are planted employees will maintain fields pulling weeds that may be interfering on the tobacco growing process, workers repeatedly from time to time or as it is needed will sucker and topping tobacco plants by hand. Tobacco fields will be harvested by machine and hand (workers will pull 3 or 4 leaves at a time from each plant and put it in a trailer.) Tobacco Packinghouse Operator: Once tobacco reaches to the packinghouse, the worker will place the tobacco in boxes to prepare for the heating process. After the curing process, the worker will remove the tobacco, sort and bale it by filling a metal container to desired weight that will compact the leaves together into bales. Soybean, Wheat, Corn & Cotton Field Weeding & Hauling Ag Equipment Operation: Workers will walk through the fields, raking, shoveling and by hand pulling weeds that may be interfering on the crop growing process, once crops are ready to harvest employee will drive agricultural equipment through the fields to harvest. Onions Field Maintenance & Harvesting: Workers will maintain fields pulling weeds that may be interfering on the crop maturing process, once the fields are ready to harvested workers will be repeatedly walking long distances in hot or cold weather conditions, harvesting by hand, pulling, cutting roots, tops and filling buckets, these buckets will be carried to a Truck in the field with empty bins that will be transported to a packing house. Cucumber Harvesting: Workers will maintain fields pulling weeds that may be interfering on the crop maturing process, once the fields are ready to harvested workers will be repeatedly walking long distances in hot or cold weather conditions, harvesting by hand, pulling, cutting roots, and filling buckets, these buckets will be carried to a Truck in the field with empty bins that will be transported to a packing house.
