Crops/Commodities: apples, blueberries, strawberries. Drive heavy trucks to/from delivery or pickup destinations, and to haul crops from field to packing facility. Regularly climb into and out of trucks and trailers. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure. Secure cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chains, binders, or covers. Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy. Maneuver trucks into and out of loading and unloading positions. Load-unload trailers and cargo. Handle equipment and cargo carefully to prevent damage. Drive trucks in compliance with state regulations. Interact with roadway officials. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection and paperwork on trucks and trailers. Clean/maintain lights, windows, and mirrors, and vehicle exterior. Add engine oil and fuel as needed. Perform preventative maintenance. Must be able to drive in rain, snow, and other hazardous conditions as needed. Drive in both on-road (paved) and off-road conditions. May drive other vehicle types. Use GPS and/or maps to navigate to destinations. Read/comprehend traffic signage and directions. Load/unload product. Prepare orders for shipping. Keep material and product records accurately. Delivery driver will be able to return to their residence or employer-provided housing within the same work day. The work day will start and end at the worksite locations listed in the ETA790A, and will involve trips to delivery points within a radius that will allow drivers to return to that home location at the end of the workday. The delivery points fall within the Rochester-Batavia-Seneca Falls MSA's maximum commuting distance, thus are within the area of intended employment.
