Field Workers will be harvesting tomatoes, potatoes, cherries and load fresh produce in the field of the correct quality, size and weight. Continual visual examination of produce to determine if the product is right for harvesting. Use hands and arms to handle the product. Place commodity into the appropriate box. Place complete product onto moving equipment such as conveyors. Examine and inspect containers, materials and products to ensure that specifications are met. harvest product by hand, and I or using a harvest knife. continual bending to reach product. Walk through shift on uneven ground and leafy rows with debris. Ensure that all Food Safety policies are followed to reduce the risk of any injury to either the employee or others. Report all safety problems, incidents and injuries to harvest foreperson immediately. Comply with all company policies. Stalk 25 lb. - 65 lbs. boxes from the conveyor to the pallets. Lift empty pallets weighing 45 lbs. Stack Boxes on each pallet. The Stack must be straight. Foreman will provide training and instruction on how to properly position the boxes onto the pallet. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking. Work required in fields when plants are wet with dew and rain, and may be required during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Temperatures in fields during working hours can range from 20 to over 100 degrees F. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop field operations
