We are a 5000 acre grain farm that primarily raises corn, soybean and wheat. I would need the march worker to be able to operate a semi truck, tractor, sprayer. They would be involved in managing our pivot irrigation fields. Mechanical ability would be nice but not required. We have John Deere equipment. The two workers starting in August would primarily be involved with prepping equipment for harvest and operating either grain cart or driving semi trucks. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc; attach/detach implements; be able to handle working in high humidity; clean work areas; guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines; haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil; inform farm managers of plants or crops progress; load crops and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities; load and unload materials and commodities; load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields; maintain grounds and landscaping; maintain inventory; mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery; operate self propelled machinery; position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers; record information about crops; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating; tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops; use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives; use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools; work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: air seeders, bins, silos, loading and unloading facilities, combines or other harvesting equipment, GPS guidance systems, grain carts, forklift, irrigation equipment, mowers and other landscaping equipment, pickups, cars, etc, self-propelled machinery, semi trucks, skid steers, sprayers, tillage equipment, tractor/trailer combinations, tractors The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: corn, grain sorghum, soybeans, wheat. Must speak and understand English. Approximate staggered entry: 1 worker to begin March 25 and 2 workers to begin Aug 1.
