We need a seasonal employee to assist with our wheat, sorghum, rye, and cotton production season. The employee will assist with all aspects of raising these crops as assigned, including cleaning work areas, equipment, and facilities, maintaining farm grounds and landscaping, preparing land, soil, cold frames, and hot beds for planting by digging, raking, screening, and conditioning soil, planting, transplanting, potting, pruning, spraying, weeding, fertilizing, watering, and tying plants, shrubs, trees, seedlings, cuttings, sod, fruits, and vegetables, and harvesting crops, plants, fruits, vegetables, shrubs, and flowers by hand, including bunching, wrapping, packing, and labeling products for orders or shipment. The employee will identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the application of pesticides and fertilizers and trap or destroy pests as required; operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled farm equipment to plow, harrow, fertilize, plant, cultivate, spray, and harvest crops; load agricultural products into trucks and drive trucks to markets, storage, or delivery locations; maintain and repair farm vehicles, implements, equipment, buildings, fences, and other structures; maintain inventory of plants, materials, equipment, or products and order supplies as needed; keep operational and production records; and direct and monitor the work of seasonal or casual employees during planting and harvesting activities. Additional duties include inspecting, examining, and diagnosing mechanical and electrical equipment to locate damage, defects, wear, or malfunctions; disassembling, dismantling, and cleaning defective machinery, vehicles, or parts using hand and machine tools; fabricating, repairing, or replacing mechanical parts or components using hand tools, lathes, drill presses, milling machines, welding equipment, grinders, or saws; installing, repairing, and maintaining farm machinery, vehicles, irrigation systems, plumbing, and sprinkler systems; tuning, overhauling, or adjusting engines and equipment to ensure optimal performance; lubricating, cleaning, and reassembling equipment following repair, testing operation, and making adjustments as necessary; testing mechanical and electrical systems and components for proper functioning; driving trucks and moving large objects to transport tools, equipment, or machinery to and from repair sites; recording details of repairs made, parts used, labor time, and calculating repair costs; and maintain equipment. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
