Crops/Commodities: nursery stock. Primary duties (performed the majority of workdays): Shuttle Driving: Safely operate a company-provided van or shuttle to transport workers to and from housing, worksites, and other designated areas according to a set schedule. Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, coolant levels, and all safety equipment. Complete and submit vehicle inspection reports as required. Drive in accordance with all applicable state and federal traffic laws and company safety protocols. Ensure all passengers are properly seated while the vehicle is in motion and that no one enters or exits the vehicle until it has come to a complete stop and the driver signals it is safe to do so. Enforce compliance with vehicle safety regulations among transported workers. Maintain cleanliness of vehicle interiors; remove trash and debris daily. Promptly report mechanical issues or unsafe vehicle conditions to the company's maintenance personnel. Monitor and report any incidents, unsafe behavior, or worker concerns to management. Workers with a clean driving record (no major moving violations such as but not limited to Driving While Intoxicated or Reckless Driving) and able to obtain an insurable driver's license will be required to drive company passenger vehicles. Workers with appropriate licenses and a valid doctor's certificate will be asked to drive other workers, in company passenger vehicles. Subject to random drug screenings. Clean driving record required. Must have a driver's license. Workers with appropriate licenses and a valid doctor's certificate will be asked to drive other workers in company bus. Must have and maintain a valid U.S. commercial driver's license (CDL) or Licencia Federal de Conductor with air brake and double/triple endorsements to permit driving of trucks. Must have clean driving record. Must comply with all applicable requirements of the USDOT regulations. Must have no disqualifying factors under applicable law or employer's motor vehicle insurance policy. Disqualifying factors include but are not limited to: conviction for driving under the influence, driving while impaired or the occurrence of a serious at-fault accident. A uniformly conducted motor vehicle records check will assess whether applicant has a clean driving record and Is legally entitled to operate commercial motor vehicles in the United States. As a driver your primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, following direction given by the supervisors and the transportation coordinator. Provide transportation for workers to and from work. Transport workers to purchase food and to laundry facility to wash clothing The driver will take passengers to specified destinations. The driver will be responsible for basic maintenance, including check the vehicle's oil, tires, lights, in addition to keeping the bus clean, as part of the pre-trip inspection. The bus driver is required to obey all traffic laws and company policies. The bus driver is required to maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all time. Ensure the safety of all passengers. Perform pre trip and post trip inspection of the bus before and after each shift. Report any hazards found during pre trip and post trip inspection. When not operating the bus the bus drivers will be required to assist in the up keep of the buses and transportation equipment. Workers with a clean driving record (no major moving violations such as but not limited to Driving While Intoxicated or Reckless Driving) and able to obtain an insurable CDL with passenger endorsement, as applicable, will be required to drive company buses. Canning Laborer – Outdoor work is required when plants are wet, or during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity, and extreme temperatures. Temperatures in fields during working hours may vary.
