General Nursery Labor: Primary duties will be work associated with the propagation of fruit trees. This will include but is not limited to planting, weeding, sprouting, delimbing, staking, banding, grafting, digging, standing trees up, training trees, trash removal, fencing, operation of farm equipment such as but not limited to tractors and/or fork lifts, any other miscellaneous farm related tasks. One portion of the season will be dedicated to grafting in which different pay rates will be applied based on quality and productivity (see item 17). GENERAL CONDITIONS: A normal work week is Monday-Friday 7 am to 4 pm with a one hour unpaid lunch break. There will also be two 10-minute paid breaks in the morning and afternoon. Work schedules may vary in order to work around extreme weather conditions or other conditions that may affect the work or may be beyond the employer's control, such as status of crop. If work is available beyond normal work days, employer may offer, but not require worker an opportunity to work additional hours or on the weekend. Workers will report to work at designated time and place as directed by assigned supervisor each day. Employees may be requested to work up to 10 hours in a day depending on the conditions and readiness of crops,, but will not be required to exceed 40 hours in a week. Workers should expect occasional periods of little or no work because of the weather, crop or other conditions beyond the employer's control.
