We operate a cattle backgrounding operation, averaging 600 head throughout the year. We process cattle upon arrival giving vaccinations, worming, and hormones. Then give antibiotics as needed if cattle health declines. Work tasks also consist of mixing feed with a late model case tractor and penta TMR, as well as setting out hay and straw. During summer months we will also be bailing hay and straw. We also operate a row crop operation where workers will also be needed to maintain cleanliness around grain facility and assist with cleaning out and maintenance of grain bins. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: attach/detach implements; be able to handle working in high humidity; clean work areas; load and unload materials and commodities; operate self propelled machinery; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating; use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives; use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools, work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: bins, silos, loading and unloading facilities, bailers and other hay equipment, grain carts, horseback riding for sorting, caring for livestock, manure spreading equipment, pickups, cars, etc, self-propelled machinery, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, tillage equipment, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: cattle, horses, canola, corn, hay, silage, soybeans, wheat.
