Lakota Leasing is a farm partnership, primarily owned by Matt and LeRoy Nelson. While our current partnership started in 2012, we have been farming this land since the mid 1960s. We are a grain farm raising a diversified mix of wheat, barley, edible beans, canola and corn. We farm about 5500 acres. We need seasonal employees to assist with all aspects of farming these crops. Employees will need to operate equipment to do field prep including tillage, fertilizer application, rock picking, mowing and rolling, operate equipment for planting including row crop planter and air seeder. Employees will also need to operate sprayers. Must understand measuring and mixing tank loads of pesticides. Must be able to pass required training and testing for ND pesticide applicator certification: private or commercial. Employees will need to drive a farm trucks to haul grain from fields to storage. Employees will need to operate harvest equipment including swathers, combines and grain cart. In the fall employees will need to do field prep including tillage, mowing, rock picking, fertilizer application and cover crop seeding. Employees will need to maintain all farm equipment including cleaning, fueling, greasing, tire changes or repairs, minor and major repair work and maintain farm property including buildings, yards, roads, grain storage and handling. Employees will be required to do detailed record keeping for all operations including fertilizer application, planting, spraying, harvest, maintenance. No commercial truck driving is required. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience.
