We are a cow/calf operation that calves in the spring of the year and ships part of the calves to market in the fall and feeds the remainder of the calves. We also from farm around 1000 acres and put up another 1500 acres of hay to feed the cattle. Our equipment is mostly late model John Deere and Case equipment. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc; attach/detach implements; clean work areas; construct facilities; feel plants/crops leaves and note coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease; haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil; identify plants, crops, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers; inform farm managers of plants or crops progress; load crops and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities; load and unload materials and commodities; load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields; maintain grounds and landscaping; maintain inventory; mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery; operate self propelled machinery; record information about crops; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops; use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives; use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools; work in extreme temperatures; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; tend to live farm, ranch animals that include cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Assist in birth deliveries; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Move livestock from one location to another; Clean and maintain animal housing areas; Provide mineral to cattle; Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: air seeders, augers, bins, silos, loading and unloading facilities, bailers and other hay equipment, combines or other harvesting equipment, GPS guidance systems, grain carts, horseback riding for sorting, caring for livestock, mowers and other landscaping equipment, pickups, cars, etc, self-propelled machinery, semi trucks, skid steers, sprayers, straight frame trucks, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, tillage equipment, tractor/trailer combinations, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: cattle, canola, hay, silage, wheat. Must speak and understand English. Employer will comply with ND state law concerning meal breaks.
