- Offer description:
The worker will assist with seasonal crop production on a 2,850-acre farm growing grains, sugar beets, soybeans, and dry beans. In the spring, duties include operating farm equipment to prepare fields, including tillage, applying fertilizer, and planting. During the summer, the worker will perform maintenance on equipment and operate sprayers or other machinery to apply crop protection chemicals to control weeds and pests. These applications may occur multiple times throughout the growing season. In the fall, responsibilities shift to harvesting crops, operating harvesters, tractors, and grain carts, and transporting crops to storage or market. After harvest, the worker will assist with post-harvest fieldwork such as fall tillage and applying fertilizer in preparation for the next planting season. Tasks require use of agricultural machinery and tools, with the expectation that the worker can perform duties safely and effectively under varying seasonal conditions. Worker may also help with general farm labor related to crop care and upkeep of the work area and equipment. The role is strictly seasonal, driven by time-sensitive periods in the planting and harvest cycle. The worker must be available to work extended hours during peak periods as needed due to weather or crop readiness. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
