I run a grain farm in northern North Dakota. We operate at a fast pace while maintaining safety. We have a short growing season and store most every crop in farm storage. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, handtrucks, forklifts, or transfer augers, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, load crops and unload crops, record agricultural data, drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping, load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities, cut trees or logs, operate farming equipment, perform manual agricultural, aquacultural, or horticultural tasks, transport animals, crops, or equipment. Employee will complete hand labor job duties such as being a rock picker behind a tractor, light tillage, general maintenance, fueling bigger tractors, maintaining the yard(s). I will assess workers throughout the season and give more responsibilities as the spring season progresses. If a worker shows initiative/capabilities, they will progress quickly to other equipment to operate on farm. Will be required to don PPE and mix chemicals from time to time. Potentially can be trained to operate sprayer. No commercial truck driving is required. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
