Worker will perform duties related to SOC 49-3041- Farm Equipment Mechanics and Service Technicians. Job duties include repair, maintenance, rebuilding and overhauling of all farm machinery and vehicles, including tractors, farm wagons, skid steers, vans, pick-up trucks and passenger vehicles. Duties include performing annual servicing and repairs on all farm vehicles; repairs include front end work (i.e. ball joints, control arms, tie rods), brake pads, rotors, calipers, electric trailer brakes, transmission changes and services, mounting and balancing of tires, exhaust work including emissions components, engine work (i.e. spark plugs, coils, fuel injectors, valve train work) going on service calls to repair wagons or vehicles in the field. Worker must be able to use a scan tool to diagnose and troubleshoot check engine lights; be able to do basic electrical and re-wiring of vehicles; test the functionality of parts in different vehicle systems, complete inspections and follow checklists to help maintain the fleet of farm vehicles; diagnose mechanical failures and repair wagon components; be able to weld and use a plasma cutter or have the ability to learn, use jack stands and proper lifting methods to ensure a safe work place, perform basic housekeeping to ensure the shop is clean, assist other mechanics when help is needed. Driver's license is preferred, as is proficiency in English.
