Skill Level 1 Planting: Workers will be required to work as a team in planting processes as trees are set at the correct depth and spacing using our plating machines. Workers will be required to work on the ground using their legs at feet to get the trees planted correctly. Workers will transport the trees from the barn/sawdust into the fields at the correct location abiding by the planting plan. Different trees require different spacing and planting processes. Pruning: Workers will be required to prune trees in order to promote better structure. Every tree variety has a different pruning practice. Workers will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing their tools everyday. Workers will be required to prune both on the ground and on our pruning lifts we use on large trees. This practice is very important and methodical as it separates our product from other growers. Some trees are pruned three times a year in different ways in order to promote the best results. Transplanting production: Workers may be required to extract smaller trees and then replant them on different spacing to achieve better results. When transplanting trees/shrubs we use a smaller tree spade machine and then replant them on larger spacing, giving them more room to grow and get larger. Loading & unloading: Workers will be required to load trees onto trucks using wheel loaders. Workers will be required to unload trucks that deliver product to the company that we then will plant in our fields or containers to carry out production. When storing trees that are bare root, workers will be required to mulch them in in our barn to prevent them from drying out Container production: Workers will be required to pot plants in our potting barn that then get put into production. Container production consists of: fertilizing, pruning, spacing, weeding, and irrigation. Propagation: Workers will be required to take cuttings off of plants, bring them to our production facility, then stick them in hormone and starting new plants. This process is referred to as propagation. Different plants require different times of propagation and different practices.
