Perform manual labor to prepare fields, plant, cultivate, and harvest rice, soybeans, wheat, cotton, and corn by hand and machine. Move grain and clean grain bins. Workers must till soil and apply fertilizer, herbicides, or pesticides to crops, weed crops, clean, and load harvested products, and remove off-type seeds. Repair farm buildings and participate in irrigation activities. Set up and operate irrigation equipment. Clear and maintain irrigation ditches. Handle polypipe in irrigated fields. Put down and pull up polypipe in the irrigated fields. Walk rice, soybean, and corn fields to check on and maintain adequate water supply to crops from wells. Use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, and tampers. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, grain augers, air blowers, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow, plant, cultivate, spray, move grain, clean bins, and harvest field crops. Repair, clean, and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Inform farmer or farm manager of crop progress. Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of fertilizers. Record information about crops, such as pesticide use, yields, or costs. Clean grain bins, augers, and dump pits for inspection. Build and maintain rice levees, put in spillways, and rogue rice fields during flood. Drain excess water from fields, open drainage overfill pipes, and walk each field to check for standing water. Put down and retrieve levee gates for irrigation of crops. Check wells each day and service wells. Assist with Good Agricultural Practice policies. Load and unload 50 lb. seed sacks. Climb 30-foot ladders. Work schedules may vary, and employees may be assigned to rotating shifts, including evening or weekend work as needed. Duties may change during the workday depending on crop and weather conditions or other needs. Workers will perform a variety of general farm labor tasks as assigned, consistent with the job description and within the certified hours. On August 25, 2025, DOL rescinded the rule prohibiting employers from filing a single temporary agricultural labor certification to hire nonimmigrant workers under the H-2A visa classification into the United States after the first date of need. As such, the employer is filing a single batch for workers who are intended to be brought into the U.S. with the approximate staggered start dates: 1. February 15, 2026 - 8 workers 2. March 1, 2026 - 8 workers
