The general farm labor/equipment operator will be responsible for performing a variety of manual and mechanized tasks related to the production of Potatoes, Corn, Soybeans, Cabbage, Bell Peppers, Spinach/Collards/Kale, & Asparagus. This position requires the safe operation of farm equipment and machinery, and applicants must be able to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions. Operate and service a variety of farm equipment, including tractors, sprayers, cultivators, harvesters, and combines. Perform manual tasks such as planting, pruning, cultivating, thinning, and harvesting crops by hand. Assist with irrigation via pivot, linear, hard hose, drip, etc. and irrigation equipment maintenance. Transport agricultural products, equipment, and supplies using farm trucks and trailers. Conduct routine maintenance and basic repairs on farm machinery and equipment. Record meter readings and report any mechanical issues to management. Assist with the packing, grading, and loading of crops for storage or market. Clear and prepare fields for planting. May involve removing debris and tilling soil. Perform general farm maintenance, including: building upkeep, shop area cleanup, mowing/ weed whacking farm lanes and around buildings Follow all safety protocols and regulations when operating machinery, handling equipment, and applying pesticides or fertilizers. Adhere to all policies and procedures regarding worker safety and food safety protocols. Assist in Good Agricultural Practices policies.
