Work with many different types of farm machinery for loading, unloading and application of fertilizers. Maintain and make minor repairs of the equipment. Mechanical skills and experience are required to use equipment necessary to perform the tasks above. Perform routine mechanical repairs and maintenance on farm equipment. Welding experience is preferred. Attach farm implements and operate equipment such as forklifts, Bobcats, Skid steers and tractors. This position requires physical coordination, decision-making ability, mechanical aptitude and driving skills. Ability to listen and follow verbal directions is imperative. Working outdoors in all types of weather (extreme heat, cold, wind, dust, rain and snow) is required. Crouching, bending, lifting and carrying items weighing up to 60pounds is required. Employer provides (at no cost to the worker) all tools and equipment necessary to perform job duties. A cell phone or two way radio will be provided (at no cost to the worker, excluding long distance charges) for emergency and ranch communications. Duties to be completed on a regular/daily basis include: a. Mechanics and upkeep of farm equipment b. Mechanics shop kept inworking order c. Preparing and storing equipment used. d. Communicate with employer using business radio or cell phone. e. Duties as assigned daily. Long/odd hours with split shifts required during harvest and seeding. Any tasks derived from a Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) other than the SOC designated in this job order are strictly incidental in nature, performed only on an occasional basis, and constitute less than the majority of the contractual period, and shall not be construed as reflective of the primary occupation for which certification is sought.
