Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2091 Agricultural Equipment Operator such as: Mix specified materials or crop protection materials, and pour solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus, weed growth, and diseases; Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions; Observe, direct, and monitor the work of help; Daily preventative maintenance and minor repair work to equipment, machinery and worksite; Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery for cultivating, planting, spraying, watering, harvesting, storing crops; Operate or tend large, high horsepower farm equipment (much of which is equipped with GPS) used in agricultural production such as 350 HP tractor, tillage implement, sprayer harvester, dump cart, forklift, implement to produce crops such as grains, peanuts, carrots; Load agricultural products into trucks without over or underfilling bed or trailer, and drive to market or storage facilities; Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, planters, harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; Operate towed machines such as seed drills or spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops; Irrigate soil and maintain ditches or pipes and pumps; Record information about crops such as yield inputs, pests; Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, and to discard diseased or rotten products; Weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information; Inspect equipment or facilities to determine condition or maintenance needs and repair buildings, fences, and other structures as necessary; Speak and understand english. Approximate staggered entry: 3 workers to begin March 1 and 4 workers to begin July 1.
