We are a grain farm in east central Indiana. Total acres are 6200. Seasonal work is needed in planting, fertilizing, pesticide applications, harvesting and helping with grain facility. The winter months of December through March are a slow time for my operation and seasonal work is not needed. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, operate other farm equipment, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops, drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. Using mower to keep field borders mowed and the farmyards with lawnmower. Lawnmower will be provided and employee will be required to mow yard at housing location. Employees will need to operate farm trucks to haul grain from fields to storage. Per state regulations, employer is exempt from a commercial CDL requirement for farm trucking. No commercial trucking is required. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer. Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid at the previous season’s rate if that rate exceeds the current published rate.
