- Offer description:
We need seasonal employees to assist with our corn, soybean, and sugarcane production, and workers will support all aspects of growing these crops throughout the seasonal cycle. Duties include preparing fields for planting; attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; and operating tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery. Employees will engage in planting, weeding, spraying, cultivating, fertilizing, and harvesting activities, including applying fertilizer or pesticide solutions with hand sprayers to control insects, fungus, weeds, and diseases. Workers will irrigate fields using portable pipes or ditch systems, maintain ditches, pipes, and pumps, and install, maintain, and repair pivot irrigation systems. Additional duties include observing machinery to detect malfunctions, inspecting and adjusting equipment, and completing routine maintenance and repairs on both machinery and irrigation systems. Workers will also drive farm semi-trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, disassemble and clean defective machinery or parts using hand and machine tools, and transport tools, equipment, and machinery to and from repair sites. Employees must be able to operate John Deere combines, John Deere sprayers, tractors, trucks, spray rigs, and must know how to run a John Deere planter to plant soybeans and corn. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
