The General Farm Ranch Hand position will be required to perform any combination of the following tasks to attend to livestock and farming operation. Must be able to make make equipment repairs, and perform routine maintenance (change oil, grease machinery), cleaning of farm machinery, fix/change tires, basic welding, basic maintenance to maintain farm implements, and keep work area clean. Should be able to operate tractors and farm implements required to stack hay bales, haul corn/soybeans during harvest, unload/load trucks/wagons/grain bins. Worker should be able to fix existing fence and build new fence. Must be able to find and maintain bearings to pastures and fields. The job entails working around farm machinery and livestock. The worker must be willing and able to work independently. Worker will assist with care and moving of livestock using 4-wheelers and side by sides to pastures for grazing; assist with livestock chores during calving; place mineral blocks; check water tanks; herd livestock into corral and manually restraining animals; manually clean stalls/corrals. Most duties are performed out of doors, and entail exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, rain and other environmental conditions. Worker must be able to crouch, bend, lift and carry up to 100 pounds. Additional hours needed during haying, harvest and calving season. Driving is required. Random drug testing may be required post hire at the employers expense.
