- Offer description:
Workers will assist with the seasonal production of wheat, soybeans, corn, edible beans, sugarbeets, and potatoes (for processing and chips) on family-owned and rented land. Beginning in early February, duties include preparing equipment and fields for planting, cleaning and hauling seed, and performing general farm maintenance. Spring tasks involve operating machinery to plant and cultivate crops, irrigating fields, and supporting pest and weed control. Summer and fall work includes harvesting crops, transporting and storing produce—particularly potatoes—at a dedicated storage facility located 3.5 miles from the main farm, and preparing fields and equipment for the next planting season by November. Workers may also assist with maintaining farm structures, grain and machinery storage buildings, and seasonal warehouse operations. Duties are physically demanding and require regular bending, lifting, walking, and standing in various weather conditions. Workers must be dependable and able to work a consistent schedule over the full contract period from February 1 to November 30, 2026, or within a few days depending on travel. Due to recent challenges in securing stable local labor, attendance and reliability are essential. This position requires Skill Level 2 (Experienced) agricultural equipment operators. Workers must have prior experience operating, maintaining, and safely handling farm machinery and equipment used for planting, cultivating, and harvesting row crops. Employment is at-will. However, the employer generally follows an escalatory disciplinary process: (1) Written warning, followed by (2) Termination notice. This process does not alter the at-will status but ensures transparency and fairness. Workers may be terminated with or without cause, consistent with applicable laws. All duties must be performed in compliance with H-2A program requirements and employer-provided safety guidelines. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
