General Duties: performs physical tasks across all farm stages, from planting seeds, tilling soil, weeding, and irrigating to harvesting, sorting, and packing crops like wheat, milo and alfalfa often operating machinery (tractors, sprayers) and doing essential maintenance, requiring physical stamina for bending, lifting, and long hours, with specific duties depending on the farm's focus (e.g., grains vs. produce). February - May: Workers will begin preparations for the spring harvest season. Duties will include: • Equipment Maintenance: Perform maintenance and basic repairs on combines, tractors, grain carts, and semi-trucks to ensure machinery is in proper working condition for harvest operations. • Harvest Support – Grain Handling: Operate combines to harvest crops. Drive tractors pulling grain carts to transport harvested grain from the combine to awaiting semi-trucks. Operate semi-trucks or assist with loading grain into semi-trucks, which will then haul grain to on-farm storage bins or the local grain elevator. June – September: Harvest will be in full operation, and duties will include: • Harvest Operations: Continue to operate combines, tractors with grain carts, and assist with grain transport and unloading. October – December: Post-harvest activities and winterizing
