Workers may assist with administering prescribed treatments under the direction of the employer or supervisor. Workers will clean and maintain barns, pens, feeding alleys, and other livestock areas, including removing manure as needed. They will maintain and repair fences, gates, pastures, and animal-handling facilities. Job duties also include assisting in hay production such as mowing, raking, baling, and stacking. Failure to comply with safety requirements may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. Additional tasks may include mowing, cutting, and weeding ranch land; performing manual labor such as ditching, shoveling, hoeing, hauling, and ground preparation; and assisting with the maintenance and harvesting of bee hives. Workers may also be required to move, install, maintain, and repair irrigation pipes, water lines, and related equipment. Assigned personal protective equipment must be worn when required. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including when plants are wet or during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity, and extreme temperatures. Workers may be required to continue working during light or intermittent rain if conditions do not halt field operations. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honeybees, or other environmental irritants may affect a worker's ability to perform job duties. The position requires long periods of standing and walking, repetitive movements, and frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling. Workers must use hand tools such as hoes, shovels, shears, clippers, loppers, and saws. The job requires lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading products, materials, and supplies, including heavy or bulky items in accordance with employer lifting requirements. Workers must report to work each day wearing appropriate work clothing, including durable work boots. Anyone wearing unsuitable clothing will not be permitted to start work. Job opportunity is Skill Level I. All primary duties are entry-level and require close supervision and/or a short demonstration of the task by a more experienced worker. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker's Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time. Workers will have an unpaid lunch break. TERMINATION. Prior to any termination for cause, employer evaluates workers' performance of required tasks and compliance with Work Rules and other employer policies. Employer may terminate a worker for cause if the worker's performance consistently and/or substantially fails to satisfy the employer's reasonable expectations (in accordance with the criteria set forth herein), or otherwise engages in serious or egregious misconduct that endangers health, safety, or property.
