Minton Farms has a nine-month growing season in West Tennessee. Job duties include preparing fields for planting and attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools. Employees will operate tractors, planters, sprayers, irrigation systems, and other farm equipment to engage in planting, weeding, spraying, and harvesting activities. Additional responsibilities include fertilizing, dusting, and spraying crops to control insects, fungus, weeds, and diseases using hand sprayers; installing, maintaining, and repairing pivot irrigation systems; and mixing and loading specified materials, chemicals, or seeds into machinery. Workers will observe and listen to machinery during operation to detect malfunctions, load and unload crops, operate harvesting equipment, and record agricultural data. Duties also include driving pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspecting and performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, completing maintenance and repairs on irrigation systems, and assisting with farm welding, fabrication, electrical, and plumbing work as needed. Employees will also perform in-field crop scouting, maintain shop headquarters and living facilities through mowing and minor repairs, and operate additional equipment such as a CAT 320D excavator, CAT 420D rubber-tired backhoe loader, bulldozer, and dirt pan. Employer may, at its sole discretion, provide pay increases based on longevity or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
