Multiple contract dates available. Alternative start date(s) include: 02/20/2026 (21 workers); 05/01/2026 (5 workers); 08/26/2026 (10 workers). The exact start date and/or number of workers may vary based on weather, crop conditions or other factors. Crops/Commodities: Crops Grown: Apples, Grapes,. Primary duties (performed the majority of workdays): Plant, Cultivate and harvest fruit. Care for young non-producing fruit trees including but not limited to weeding, hoeing trunk painting, hand fertilizing and grow selection by hand and clipping. Hand thinning of apple trees to ensure proper fruit load on tree. Pruning of apple trees which can be done from ground, ladder up to 12ft or motorized platform, training of apple trees to a trellis by clipping and tying limbs and shoots to the wire. Training and limb positioning of all crops, assist in the establishment of new orchards and vineyard properties. This includes clearing the property, planting trees, building trellis, and spreading composted material. Recognize tree disease such as blighted branches in all crops. Harvest preparation including spreading liners in bins, rolling bins into blocks by hand, propping and tying of all crops and limbs. Repair sprinklers on overhead cooling system. Load and unload empty bins by hand and place in orchard and vineyard. Harvest numerous varieties of applies according to established company procedures accounting for the difference in the treatment of different varieties. During harvest workers will perform this task from motorized platform, ground and or ladder. The worker will attach harness, bucket or bag and pick low hanging fruit while on the ground and higher branches while using the ladder. The worker will pick according to grade, color and size by grasping fruit with the hands and removing from the tree in motion so as not to harm adjacent buds on the tree branches. The worker will carry harness, bucket or bag or up to 60lbs and will place fruit into wooden bins. Workers may be required to examine harvested fruit in bins and sort fruit not meeting grade, color and size specifications. Handle fruit carefully and not bruise or damage fruit when it is place in bin. Observation of bruised, damaged or cull fruit by the supervisor will result in a bad bin mark. After 3 bad bin marks the workers will receive disciplinary action up to and including termination. A bad bin mark occurs when a bin is inspected an a signification number of culls, bruised or damaged fruit are found by the supervisor. Worker must possess the ability to pick up and handle a 10 or 12 ft ladder. Workers will hand and or machine harvest wine grapes. Worker will harvest numerous varieties of grapes according to the company procedures accounting for difference in the treatment of different varieties The fruit will be place in a plastic or stainless steel container. Care must be exercised at all times to prevent breaking of vineyards and to maximize the quality of fruit. Workers may be required to examine harvested fruit bins, and sort out any fruit not meeting the grade, color and size expectations. Pack crops into containers. Remove rotten or damaged clusters from vines pre harvest. Use hand tools such as pruning hooks, shears and picking bags. Farm maintenance including picking up garbage around the orchard and vineyard, removing old string and wire from trellis and orchard and vineyard blocks. Workers may also be asked to drive tractors, rake, bale, till mow, mix and spray chemicals or fertilizers. Operate farm trucks and passenger vans to carry farm equipment, crops and workers. Perform general repair and maintenance on agricultural equipment. Driver that have a drivers license may be required to drive company vehicles. Workers with appropriate licenses and a valid doctors certificate may be asked to transport other workers from the living quarters to the worksites.
