Operate or tend precision ag equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, floaters, and sprayers to apply a wide range of products to aid in crop growth and weed and insect control according to the recommended rates, procedures and following all pesticides labels. Mix or blend specified materials, liquid chemicals, dump solutions, powders, agricultural lime and dry/liquid fertilizer into sprayer machinery according to the recommended rates, procedures and following all pesticides labels. Load trucks, tanks, and equipment with product and deliver as needed. Perform daily and preventative maintenance of equipment and machinery or facilities may include checking fluids, cleaning, adjustments, and general maintenance or service. Observe, listen, and clean receiving area and machinery to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Load and unload crops, grain, or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, handtrucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, or shovels. Attach farm implements such as sprayers, fertilizer trailers and toolbars to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Visually monitor product for irregularities and notify supervisor of any discrepancies. Operate and monitor grain dryer as needed. Clean receiving area and facility to ensure that equipment is in good working order. Follow all OSHA rules and Safety regulations. Must hold and maintain, or have the ability obtain, all required pesticide or fertilizer applicator licenses or certifications per the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Performs general farm duties as assigned.
